Happy Monday, world. I hope everyone’s week is off to a beautiful start. I’m feeling rejuvenated and excited to take on the week after a fun and relaxing weekend with my sisters in Cancun. The water was absolutely gorgeous; shades of blue that you can’t not marvel at. Being in the company of my sisters in paradise was so so lovely. The randomness of our conversations never ceases to amaze me and kept me cracking up between naps. Being at an all-inclusive resort, we were all set with food and drinks which was truly glorious. Even so, this might be the first time I’ve actually felt pumped up to get back into my regularly scheduled programming after a vacation. I have multiple goals and regular habits that I’m happy to be building some momentum with, including of course, Resource Roundups!
Here are the topics that will be covered in each resource roundup:
- Mind Care: Helping your mental health, ability to think critically.
- Body Care: Taking the best care of your body from fitness to food.
- Community Care: There are a ton of great grassroots efforts- let’s explore and get involved
- Time Care: Cool places to put your attention in moments of free time. Includes life hacks that can save you time, energy and money since ya know… time is money in capitalism.
I’m gonna keep saying it because I be changing my mind… these categories are subject to change, but we gotta start somewhere!

Udemy

This platform could genuinely be life-changing for anyone looking to learn a new skill, build up a portfolio of work and break into a new industry. Udemy has some really great courses on a wide variety of topics. I’ve taken classes on the site before and I’m currently taking one that is teaching me a lot every day. For less than $15, you get access to on-demand educational content with plenty of practice exercises, a community of other learners and knowledgeable instructors who can answer your questions. This should go without saying, but take a good look at the reviews to understand what kind of quality you can expect from a course before signing up. In my opinion, when it comes to learning, highest quality is best, otherwise you can easily end up confused, frustrated and quitting.
Applicant for The World’s Greatest Sauce
Yoooo ok LISTEN this sauce is actually so good and learning how to make it unlocked a new level of culinary spark in my kitchen. I know as a sauce, it seems like an embellishment to a meal, but the flavor punches you get from this sauce are so good, you could top or even marinade a really nice chicken or fish dish, or even a salad to elevate a meal. I used to omit the mayo and use it as a marinade for grilled chicken. Chef’s kiss as long as you know how to grill chicken. You can also double the quantities and throw in some oven-roasted vegetables to make an AMAZING base for a soup, chili, or a dip for chips. Preparing your own food helps you to control what exactly you’re putting into your body. Sauces you buy in the store have stealthy synthetic chemicals like emulsifiers that research studies have suggested to have a debilitating impact on the gut microbiome. This tastes way better anyway. Here are the ingredients. Note how many fruit, veggie and herb-based ingredients in here. Yummm your gut and taste buds will thank you.
- Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- Lime
- Pineapple
- Black pepper
- Cilantro
- Garlic powder (or garlic)
- Salt
- Mayonnaise (which you can make at home!)
Random Acts of Kindness
This is more of a concept than a resource. Why not take a moment this week to acknowledge someone you usually wouldn’t? Give a “good morning” or “good afternoon” when you might normally just walk by or cut straight to the point. Smiling, greeting someone and having a chat is a lost art. Me, I can definitely get lost in my mental to-do list and isolate myself from others, but I’m slowly working to be more conscious of the people around me. Greeting and being greeted in return with a simple “buenos días” can brighten my mornings and has led to some cool conversations with people I see around often. Thus, friendship has a chance to bloom and a sense of community has the opportunity to develop.
How Simple Choices Shape Our Days
Heavy on the Youtube this week. This short story is not only cinematically compelling, but really drives the point home of how small choices can affect your entire day. Days roll up into weeks, weeks into months, and next thing you know, habits that seem small and insignificant have led you to a place in life you aren’t so happy to be. Ironically, YouTube is one of my bad-leaning habits, as it is so easy to fall down rabbit holes. Learning to be aware, snapping out of the daze and continuing to exercise free will leads me to a much higher sense of satisfaction at the end of every day. The challenge is finding the good content, watching it and logging off instead of clicking over to the next video each time. That’s a major reason I wanted to showcase great YouTube videos here actually. Because everything else on this page should be helping to enrich your life in some way rather than staying on the hamster wheel of mindless consumption.
