Roma

Buona Sera!

This is a very quick post to give a run-through of what we’ve been up to for the past couple of days. I just like to keep you guys informed!

The day before yesterday we…

Walked around, saw the Colosseum, the Temple of the Unknown Soldier,  the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and got dinner in Trastevere (€3 pizzas!!) Then went up to Gianicolo Hill to watch the sunset. We went back to the Trevi and Navona to see them at night.

Yesterday we…

Went to the laundromat to do laundry

Met Tyler’s Amazon buddy, Stephen and his girlfriend Lizzie by the Trevi Fountain for lunch and gelato

Went inside the Colosseum and did an audio tour

Went back to our apartment and stuffed our faces with water and cookies

Met Stephen and Lizzie for a pizza and wine dinner up on a hill above Piazza Del Popolo. It was beautiful and cold

Made a toast to our 2-year anniversary ♡ then almost immediately fell asleep because all this walking is starting to catch up with us

Today we…

Did a morning tour of The Vatican. Did you know Vatican City is technically its own country? I’m ashamed to just be learning this just now , but better late than ever.

Met Lizzie and Stephen for lunch and got gelato again (teehee!)

Got more gelato

Said our goodbyes since they’re flying to Copenhagen tonight then back to the US tomorrow

Used our Colosseum tickets from yesterday to get into the Roman Forum and walked around until they closed

Back to the apartment to freshen up for dinner and out we go! Probably going to be out like a light again tonight, but thankfully we don’t have any big plans for tomorrow so we should be able to get some rest!

[ I wrote this last night but am just now in a wifi zone to post. Dinner was awesome last night and I think we’re going back again tonight just for the cheese and meat appetizer plate nommm. Also, my Washington Post app just informed me that Maya Angelou died and wow, I’m shocked. RIP Maya Angelou.]
