Hey ya’ll! So I’ve just gotten through my first week of classes at Imperial College London. This is going to be a whirlwind program I can already tell! Our daily schedules involve a morning lecture, lunch, a 3-hour lab, then working on lab reports back at Lee Abbey (our place of residence) until around midnight. The schedule is very busy and to be totally honest, I’m not in love with the work but it’s still a great experience nonetheless. We get to switch up groups each week, so on top of grasping concepts and developing report writing and presentation skills, we’re all really going to learn about different group work styles. Today we had the day off of classes and went on a Big Bus tour of the city. Being London, of course it rained for about the first hour. But after we took a break to get lunch at a pub, the weather got a little better. We bused around and saw the sites like incredibly blatant tourists sitting on the top of an open-top double decker bus, pointing, and taking pictures. There was no shame. I got back to eat dinner at Lee Abbey while everyone else went to bars/restaurants to get food. We’re fed for free here, so as nice as it would have been to explore the local cuisine, I am fresh out of money and back to living like the frugal college student I am. I figure I’ve seen Europe, so it’s not necessary for me to strive for the best of London. Living here and scrounging off of all the free food I can get is good enough for me.
So I’ve been posting everything up to this point from my iPod, which is why I’ve had issues posting pictures. There have been a lot of pictures that I’ve wanted to share, but was limited by what my iPod could handle, which seemed to be a max of about 4 photos before it started to mess up. Since I’ve got my laptop here, I’m going to try to post more photos that I’ve collected on my iPod! Hopefully I can get a good amount on this post. Looking at the pictures, you can play a game called “guess where this picture was taken”! Ready, Set, Guess!
